Release Notes 24.0.0git (In-Progress) Release Notes¶
In Polly 24 the following important changes have been incorporated.
Warning
These release notes are for the next release of Polly and describe the new features that have recently been committed to our development branch.
Polly’s options are passed to
optwith-plugin-arg=Polly,<option>, whether Polly is linked intooptor loaded as a plugin, e.g.opt -load-pass-plugin=LLVMPolly.so -plugin-arg=Polly,-polly-process-unprofitable. When Polly is linked intoopt, the plain-polly-*options remain accepted for now.The matrix multiplication optimization allocates packed arrays larger than
-polly-pattern-matching-max-stack-array-size(1 MiB by default) on the heap instead of the stack.-1keeps all of them on the stack.Polly can now separate the complete tiles of a tiled loop nest from the partial ones. The point loops of the complete tiles then have constant bounds, which lets the loop vectorizer vectorize them without a scalar epilogue. This is enabled with
-polly-isolate-complete-tiles, and is off by default because it increases code size. The options-polly-isolate-complete-tiles-2nd-leveland-polly-isolate-complete-register-tilesdo the same for the second level of tiling and for register tiling.
